Fubiz is Fresh

One of my personal favorite design related blog, Fubiz, recently underwent a 3 month overhaul. The new blogsite has a lot of cool new features, but perhaps the one that is worth mentioning is the fact that Fubiz now allows its readers to set up a member space. It's nothing new, as many sites are already doing this, but it is still a great way to attract more readers/members and allow them to participate on Fubiz. Love the clean new look. If you're looking for inspiration, Fubiz is a blogsite worth bookmarking. For more information and key new features read their press release here.

PSP/Apple Wallpaper

Sick concept for PSP/Apple Wallpapers created by Diego Bellorin, aka {empk} from Spain. I'm loving the use of color, and geometric compositions. Seems like everyone is doing the geometric graphic style, but it's still eye candy for me. Works well in this case. See the rest of the project on Behance.

Expo Nova

Mission Design is a Norwegian design studio who have recently re-branded Norway's leading retailer in contemporary furniture, Expo Nova. The retail store showcases products from designers such as Jasper Morrison, Marc Newson, the Bouroullec brothers and Cappellini. Mission’s challenge was to use the retail identity to reposition the brand as a forum for contemporary furniture. Here are the results.

Julia Pogodina

I have been meaning to post this photographer for a while now, but for some reason I just never got around to it. Julia Pogodina is a New York based photographer whose work has appeared in magazines such as Elle, Image, MF Magazine, Sense&Style, Computer Arts, DON'T, and Six Degrees to name a few. The saturation of color, elegance, fashion-forward expressions, and chaotic atmospheres really come out in this series she called "Alice in W". Very nice.

Fabrice Bats

A little late for another round of wishes for the new year, but this made me laugh. Made with love and true hair, 100% Hair (from Fabrice Bats' head aka 5ive). He'll need to wear a tuque or a winter hat, its freaking cold out there!

Ivan Khmelevsky

An interesting self-promotional mailer package designed by Ivan Khmelevsky. The package contains his business card with a flash drive attached to it with a ribbon, a pin badge and a poster with his CV on the back of it. The flash drive contains his digital portfolio, but can be used by the recipient as a container for his/her own files. Good luck with the self-promo Ivan!

Robinsson Cravent

A simple but nice business card by Robinsson Cravent, a graphic designer from Columbia. On his business card presentation, Robinsson showcases some images of nature, introspective music, and cold mornings that have inspired him to come up with the symbol and pattern for his identity. This identity reminds me of something, but I can't recall it at the moment.

Feltron 2008

Nicholas Feltron, the 31 year old infographic designer guru has done it again. That's right, the Feltron 2008 Annual report is now online. I don't know how he keeps track of all this data, but he is sure impressive. Nicholas Feltron records just about everything he does in one year and creates an infographic interpretation of his annual...well just about everything. Amazing.

Fiction Department

These invitations caught my eye while doing my daily (well not so daily) browsing...through the ginormous interweb. Designed by Fiction Department for the fellows at Ponystep, the posters are constructed using Artoz Paplo perforated stock, and bespoke foil blocked stickers. Diamond Tickets were laser cut out of gloss white Perspex. These were sealed into white tissue-lined custom envelopes with a smaller version of the same sticker for that element of luxury. Simple, but nice.
